Makarska

Today we sailed across the Riviera towards Makarska. We spent the afternoon relaxing at the beach, looking at markets and admiring the amazing mountains which surround the town. The center picture is of Sam doing his back flip off the boat. Our topdeck leader, Adam, has a neat camera that takes lots of photos in a row.

Sam really enjoyed his rafting experience (front left)

Split

Today we made our final journey back to Split. We were all pretty tired today so enjoyed some nice lazing swimming and naps. Those more adventurous went white water rafting...Sam was one of those. We had the most amazing time and met some really neat people... see you again soon Croatia :)

Vrgada Pirate Party

In the evening at Makarska we had a fun pirate party onboard our boat. Following this, we wore our costumes to the opening of a cave bar. It was awesome!!!

Captains Dinner Miljet

Miljet

Today we sailed to Miljet, a well known Island for the National Park. We took a boat to salt water lakes where many of us had yet another lovely swim. In the evening, we made too much noise for the locals, so we anchored out from the harbour. The crew of our boat (chef bottom photo) cooked us an amazing Croatian captains dinner. Our captain was 85 years old!

Dubrovnik continued....

In the evening, we enjoyed another group dinner. Adam, our Topdeck leader ordered a seafood platter (see 1st photo). We spent the night once again having cocktails, this time out of buckets. We had a wonderful time. Dubrovnik was INCREDIBLE!!!!

DUBROVNIK Croatia

Woke up today to a rocking boat, already on our way to Dubrovnik! Stopped at another amazing swim spot today where the boys all started doing dives and back flips of the top of the boat. Arrived late arvo in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Dubrovnik is located on the southern tip of Croatia. It has been very heavily involved in Yugoslav wars in the 1990's. The locals have worked very hard to restore the beautiful city. We walked through the stratum within the incredible city walls. Sam and I walked around the 1940m long walls, taking in the amazing views.

Korcula Croatia

Our 3rd Croatia stop was the Island of Korcula. During our swim stop today, we anchored next to a million dollar boat. Korcula is believed to be the birth place of the legendary 13th century explorer Marco Polo. We walked through the old town and looked the the neat markets and shops. In the evening we enjoyed pizza for tea followed by climbing a steep ladder up to a cocktail bar. This bar is very unique as it was located on top of a tower built in the turret of the 15th century. Your drinks come up to you on a pulley! Another awesomely fun night!!!

Hvar Croatia

Today we arrived in Hvar, the longest Island in the Adriatic. We walked many steps to the Fortress at the top of the hill overlooking many beautiful Croatian Islands. We spent the evening at Hula Hula beach resort where we met other top deck crews. The resort was located on rocks on the sea front, a neat place to enjoy many yummy cocktails.

Milna Croatia

Checked out of the Palace and made our way to the harbour to find the mighty Vrgada, our home for the next 7 days :)
After a scrummy lunch, we set off for our first stop Milna. Each day we stopped at lovely swim spots in the Adriatic ocean. Milna was a quiet place where we enjoyed our first group dinner (top right)

Croatia- Split Day 1

We arrived in beautiful Split, Croatia on the 4th June. Made our way to our apartment for the night, inside the world famous "Dioklecijanova Palace". The buildings were very unique, all with orange roofs. Spent the arvo looking around the neat shops. Sam and I climbed over 200 steps up the bell tower. Luckily the view from the top was well worth it as the steps and hand rails were not very sturdy.
