Esti's stay

This weekend we had Esther to stay (my school friend from Dio). It was so neat to have a great catch up as she has been travelling Europe for the past 3 weeks. She enjoyed milking the cows yesterday and driving us through the biggest puddles she could find on the motorbike. Again we showed he our lovely local pub, the Carriers.

Visitors to the Bunaglow

Last weekend we had Edd, Rosie and Silvia come and visit us on the farm. They are friends we met on our Egypt trip and live in Bristol. We took them on a full farming experience followed by our local pub for tea and drinks out in Bath. Was so lovely to have them stay, hope to see them again soon :)

Farm workers

Since Jared and SP have left we have had a few people come and go on the farm. Aussie Luke tried out the bungalow funnel before he left and partner Tina had a shot made my Sam. Last is Matt, a temp worker from Wales who is with us for 6 weeks (playing the wii)

The following day, we took the trams up to the Prague Castle and cathedral then walked down back through town. In the afternoon, we boarded the bus again for a long overnight drive back to London. In 24 hours we went through 6 countries...Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, France and England.

Prague

After being in Munich, we made our way on the bus to the Czech Republic's capital Prague.
It is the most beautiful city. We did a walking tour at dusk, looking at the amazing buildings. Following our tour we had a group dinner at a nice Czech restaurant.

Dachau

Our 2nd day began with a trip to Dachau concentration camp. We walked through the museum and Barroks and around the grounds. Was a very moving experience. In the afternoon we went back to the beer halls for another stein or two. We visited 3 of the other tents today.

Oktoberfest

Today was the start of the main event. We took buses at 8am to the Oktoberfest grounds and picked a tent to try and get a table. We went to the Hofbrau tent, the biggest at beerfest, holding 10 thousand people. We didn't manage to get a table inside but we had a nice table outside in the sunshine. At noon, the major tapped the first barrel and declared Oktoberfest open. After this the "Oompah" bands started and wenches began to carry all the steins out. Some carry 12 at a time, I could only manage 4 empty ones. Had lots of fun drinking a stein or 2 and enjoying the awesome atmosphere. Later in the evening we met up with Jared our house mate and went on a few rides.

Munich Germany

On the 16th September Sam and I headed to London to join our Oktoberfest Tour. We made our way on the bus to the white cliffs of Dover then on to Germany on an overnight bus trip. Arrived at 8am at our campsite, Camping Thalkirchen along with 4000 others. Spent the day today looking around the lovely city of Munich. We had a walking tour followed by a visit to the fishing and hunting Museum. Next was a stein and lunch at Hofbrau house, a very famous German Beer. After lunch we climbed many steps up the bell tower, seeing wonderful views over the city. Met up with some friends from other trips in the evening.
