The bull running is the main event in Pamplona. It begins at 8am each morning when they release 12 bulls after a firework is let off. The bulls run up the narrow street amounst 1000's of people trying to outrun them and avoid getting squashed. The run is about 800m and takes the bulls 3 mins to complete it. The bulls finish in the bull fighting arena, the 3rd biggest arena in the world. This is where I sat to watch both days. The entire area was packed with white and red, great atmosphere! After the main bulls are put away, they release a smaller heifer, still with very large horns. The people who where lucky (or unlucky) enough to make it to the arena get to be chased down and run over by the heifer. Sam made it in to the arena when he ran.
